Constructs

In Dungeons & Dragons, a construct is a type of creature that falls into the category of “constructed beings.” These entities are artificially created, rather than being born or naturally occurring. Constructs can take various forms, but they share common traits:

Non-Intelligence: Most constructs lack true consciousness or self-awareness. They operate based on their programming or purpose.
Purpose-Driven: Constructs are designed for specific functions, such as combat, labor, or protection.
Immunity: They are often immune to effects that target living creatures, including mind-altering, poison, sleep, paralysis, and disease-related effects.
No Metabolic Activities: Constructs don’t require sleep, food, or other metabolic processes.

Examples of constructs include golems (such as clay golems), helmed horrors, homunculi, and shield guardians. Some, like the warforged, possess a spark of life and limited sentience.

Imagine encountering a magically crafted guardian or a clockwork servant—both fascinating constructs
